It will be a private online community for adults who want to build chosen family connections. The community is structured like a home, with different virtual spaces for different activities: cooking together, film nights, holiday meals, art therapy, happy hours, and more. It’s warm, inclusive, and will be open to anyone 18 and over, anywhere in the world.

Yes – the community will be open to members worldwide. The app is US only at launch, but the community has no geographic restrictions.
No. You can choose a display name rather than your full name. What matters is that you’re respectful – not that you’re identifiable.
You’re in very good company. A lot of our members are. You can observe before you participate, take your time finding your feet, and nobody will pressure you to do anything before you’re ready.
We need a brief description of what actually happens week to week – specific recurring activities and events. Even two or three concrete examples would help.
Yes. The community has clear conduct guidelines and active moderation. Zero tolerance for harassment, romantic solicitation, or anything that isn’t in keeping with what we’re building here.
About the App
The Relative Choice app is a matching platform that will connect adults seeking specific chosen family roles – grandparents, siblings, parents, aunts and uncles, adult children, and family units. It matches people based on shared values, lifestyle, and what family means to them. It’s launching in the US in 2026.

Completely different. The Relative Choice app matches people for family roles – not romance, not friendship, not dates. There is zero tolerance for anyone trying to use the platform for romantic purposes. The matching, the profiles, the entire structure is built around chosen family.

No. Relative Choice™ is an independent company. We’re the Family You Need community and the Relative Choice app are both Relative Choice™ products.

Immediate removal. There are no warnings for serious violations – harassment, romantic solicitation, predatory behavior, or anything that threatens the safety of members results in a permanent ban. Creating new accounts after removal is prohibited.
Keeping members safe is something we take seriously. Every account is verified. The community has active moderation and a zero-tolerance policy for harassment, predatory conduct, or any behavior that puts members at risk. Conduct standards apply both on and off the platform.
